Your
excursion to Geyser and Dyer islands begins at
the picturesque Kleinbaai Harbour. The launching
slip way of this small harbour, being the point
of entry for all cage diving expeditions to the
islands, becomes a beehive of activity on clear
mornings. Air tanks are filled, cylinders are
placed inside diving cages, safety equipment is
checked and the boats are fuelled prior to passengers'
arrival.
The
trip takes about 4 to 5 hours. Starting with breakfast
or Lunch at our Guest Lodge ‘The Whale and
Shark’ in Kleinbaai, normally at 08h00.

from Oudtshoorn, at the head of the picturesque
Cango Valley, lies the spectacular underground
wonder of the Klein Karoo - the Cango Caves. Situated
in a limestone ridge parallel to the well known
Swartberg Mountains, you will find the finest
dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering
formations.

A
few of the African penguin colonies are accessible
to tourists. Due to the penguin’s very nervous
nature, tourist activities at these sites must
be very strictly controlled. African penguins
at the Boulders Beach colony in Simons Town (a
mainland site near Cape Town) are notably less
nervous than other African penguins, and are unusually
tame and accustomed to people. However, being
a mainland site, the colony is exposed to threats
that are not an issue at island colonies. These
include predation by terrestrial predators, and
exposure to disease via mosquitoes and terrestrial
disease-carrying birds.
